Who are the the Woodpeckers at Westminster-Canterbury?
A feature of life at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay that many men (and ladies) will find attractive is the “Woodpeckers” work space. When moving to our community you need not give up your personal work space or shop - just join our Woodpeckers organization. The work shop here at Westminster-Canterbury features many, if not all, of the tools and shop equipment you may have had at your home including a bench saw, radial arm saw, lathe, 2 drill presses, a planer, a drum sander, grinders and assorted power hand tools.
There are workbenches for individual projects and opportunities to use your skills to help repair resident’s furnishings like lamps, tables and electronic equipment. Our shop is equipped with items that incoming residents have brought with them when they moved into Westminster-Canterbury. If you have shop tools that you want to continue to use when you move in they may be added to our inventory as space allows. Our Woodpecker organization is another reason why Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay seems just like home.
The Westminster-Canterbury Foundation
The Mission and Purpose of Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay is to provide for the spiritual, emotional and physical well being of individuals and couples, by providing a residential community that operates its facilities in a careful and caring manner that emphasizes the concern for the well-being of its residents.
Through its Fellowship Fund, the Westminster-Canterbury Foundation ensures that residency is available to all qualified individuals and that all residents can be assured of financial security for the rest of their lives. Gifts to the Foundation may be in the form of memorials or in honor of anyone designated by the donor. Gifts may be made in the form of a pledge over a number of years.
